Transitioning and transformations…

What a few months it’s been,  many of us have been pushed well and truly out of our comfort zones, and are having to adapt to new ways of working, challenges and opportunities.

Listening to the good news and the bad, we can see clearly that the businesses doing well are those who were either already ahead of the curve when it comes to change, or those who really embraced it when it abruptly arrived.  From technology to teams, to our market place and how we sell, and even what we sell, it’s all been thrown up in the air and we’re left to juggle and see what we keep up there.

Going outside of our comfort zones can only be a good thing, and whilst it can be uncomfortable it can be truly transformative.  The more we get used to doing it, the more it becomes second nature to push ourselves out there.  Sometimes the pushing is the simple act of doing less, not doing all the time. It may be that we are forced to release certain ideas and expectations and surrender to what is actually happening, and then act accordingly –  these last few months have certainly taught us that we do not control much of what transpires in our lives. We control how we react.

So what has this got to do with selling?  To transform our businesses, we need now to be ready, which means what? The questions below are designed to help you brainstorm and decide on activity and priorities.  Letting go of what we wanted, allowing and accepting what is, and then making sense of what we do with it, is a good path forward.

  1. What are the new challenges we face with sales?
  2. How has our market changed?
  3. What new opportunities can we explore and what can we let go of?
  4. What resources do we have to drive sales?
  5. Are we still speaking with prospects, should we do this now/how?
  6. How has technology helped us adapt during lockdown, and what opportunities has this created?
  7. How have our lifestyles changed, and what changes would we like to carry into a new future?
  8. What should we surrender to?  (Because giving up the struggle saves energy!)
  9. What are our priorities this month?
  10. What have we been putting off, that we can implement now?

We hope these questions help you on the journey and wish you lots of luck! If you need any help, please feel free to get in touch on 0121 347 6601, we’re happy to brainstorm with you…
