Now and Then

In the summer of 1995 we were listening to Mr Boombastic by Shaggy and Country House by Blur. We were watching Apollo 13 and Toy Story on the Big screen and cheese strings and potato smiles were new to our palettes!

A lot’s changed since 1995, we’ve grown, we’ve evolved, we’ve changed with the times and so has how we’ve done business!

1. The Phone – We talked with people, we had conversations that were not done through 8 various platforms and online at that. We couldn’t talk and use the internet at the same time. We never lost our phones, as they were either connected to the wall or we had nokia’s that really were nothing to brag about! Tracy confessed that she didn’t have her first mobile phone until she was 30, it was a flip one with an aerial, eeeek!
2. The cloud was something that floated in the sky and produced rain.
3. All back up’s were done on a tape.
4. There was no Youtube, Facebook, Linkedin,Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, Messenger or Snapchat to name just a few.
5. We checked our inbox once a week.
6. We sent and received more mail, a first class stamp cost 25p, compared to 70p in 2019.
7. Amazon first launched in 1995.

Since the summer of 1995, technology has changed the way we do business but we all still love to receive a phone call and to see a letter when we walk through the door.
